What is it about April?

Painting No. 278|6″ x 6″|Oil on Canvas
Man, what is it about April that makes painting so hard? This is the third year that I’ve officially attempted to do 100 paintings and it seems like each time I hit this massive wall at month four. I don’t know if it’s a cycle with my work or what. But either way it sucks.
I’m going to try some new things starting this weekend to get moving and reboot. I’ve learned that the worst thing to do when you hit a wall is to stop painting. We’ll see how it goes.
No. 288 is another one from my class with Deborah Paris. Taking a class is one way to get through a dip. Not having to think of what to paint takes some of the pressure off and you can focus on making progress vs. trying to “finish” something.
